Montreal Canadiens forward Scott Gomez won a $50,000 car at his own charity golf tournament on Thursday, the Anchorage Daily News reports. For a player that went 98 games and one entire calendar year (February 5, 2011 to February 9, 2012) without a goal, this could mean a change in his luck! Gomez won the Acura MDX by hitting a hole-in-one at the Scotty Gomez Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament. It came on the par-3 sixth hole at Eagleglen Golf Course in Gomez’s hometown of Anchorage. Reportedly, he is thinking about donating the vehicle back to his charity foundation, but some of his friends are urging him to keep it since now at home in Anchorage he is driving a mid-1990s model Nissan that his younger sister Natalie used in college. I am sure that many Montreal Canadiens fans hope that his luck will continue into the upcoming season!
