The top 2 players of the 2012 NHL free agent class have signed 13-year contracts with the Minnesota Wild. Zach Parise, who had 69 points in 82 games last year for the New Jersey Devils and played in the Stanley Cup Finals, signed a 98-million dollar deal. Parise is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and played high school hockey in the state. Ryan Suter grew up 300 miles from Minneapolis in Madison, Wisconsin. He signed the same lucrative deal that his new teammate Parise did with the Wild. It looks like the Minnesota Wild have become a major contender in the NHL Western Conference this year.
