A Great On-Ice Warm Up to Get You Ready to Play

This is a series of warm up drills that you can do on the ice to get you ready to play and help avoid injuries. Not only does HockeyOT focus on hockey performance training but we are also involved with a sports injury clinic in Southern California called Back to Function. At Back to Function we see a number of NHL, college, junior, youth and adult recreational players with an assortment of injuries. Many of the injuries we see in the youth and adult recreational groups could have been prevented with:

1) an off-ice training program focused on core stabilization

2) proper on-ice warm up prior to the practice and/or game

Just spending 5 minutes doing some of these on-ice warm up drills can help you prevent injuries and get you ready to play.
